AN EXHIBITION OF THE 2018 RESIDENCIES - LIGHT GREY ART LAB

Opening July 5, 2019 Light Grey Art Lab is hosting an exhibition celebrating the creative residencies to Norway and Iceland during 2018. Reuniting the Artists-in-Residence with the teams they travelled with in order to create collections of work based on their experiences together. Moments in the landscape, emotional connections, and artistic discoveries, all presented in curated, collaborative mini-exhibitions.

Team Sol decided to each create a piece around Nordic Runes. I chose the rune Pertho, which is quiet mysterious and little is known about it. It is rumored to be similar to the Wheel of Fortune card in a tarot deck. Symbolizing fate, mystery, living with the unknown, the art and magic of guessing, pattern recognition, and prophecy.
